[8] Doing our best to be humble
We have learned various ways to encounter God in our daily lives. Here is another way, which is to do our best to be humble.
When we follow this path, our heart is filled with love. We are eager for good things to increase in the surrounding environment. And because of the wish, we seek to do anything to achieve the purpose.
When we deepen our humility, we accept what people normally try to avoid because of the difficulty of accepting it. In front of God, or in front of others, we hope more strongly for the glory to God and other people. As we do more background work, the glory of God and other people increases. Therefore, we do not try to be esteemed more highly than others. We constantly try to keep away from our desire to be admired.
One of the examples would be that experienced leaders are willing to cede their important positions to their juniors, and support them from behind the scene. It is a wonderful way of humility.
We can also achieve a beautiful attitude in our inseparable relationships. Parents usually give guidance and instructions to their children. But sometimes, they can choose to follow children’s opinion. Putting their good opinion aside, they can respect their children and give them the opportunity to take responsibility. This would lead to significant growth for the children.
Humility is a beautiful attitude in front of God. Because we can see the beauty and greatness of God very well, we want to feel that we are small and insignificant. If we are insulted by others, we try to accept it without complaining about it because of our love of God. Even if we are treated unfairly, we try to accept it without complaining about it because of our love of God. When we are treated like that, we feel that we are closer to our true self in front of God.
Therefore, humility is a true way of being for us.
But we should be very careful about false humility. True humility fully acknowledges our own goodness. We thank God for good things that we receive from Him. We are happy about ourselves. And still, we want to feel ourselves as a small and insignificant existence in front of God.
